My aunt Gerry has a wonderful old recipe from her mother for some good ole homemade rolls.  The recipe includes crisco, white sugar, and white flour..so I cleaned it up and they are still wonderful!!
1 package instant yeast
1 1/2 cup lukewarm water
1/3 cup honey or sucanat sugar
1/2 coconut oil or olive oil
1 heaping tsp of sea salt
4 cups whole wheat flour (for those who grind their own I used a soft white/hard white mix)
Dissolve yeast packet in warm water. Add honey, oil, and salt.  Add flour one cup at a time and stir well. Let rise in a warm place for about 1 1/2 hours.  Place on floured surface and roll out. Cut with biscuit cutter.  Rub a bit of oil on both sides and place on baking pan.  Spread a pat on butter in the middle and fold in half. Make sure to pinch the edge tight.  Let rise about one hour. Bake at 400 about 12-15 min or until done.
